and these patients infect many others before they die.The charity has
donated £3,000 to help with provide meals for needy tuberculosis
patients at Phuc Yen so that they stay and complete treatment.
Project Two: Murambindi Mission Hospital, Zimbabwe
The charity has recently
funded a nutrition scheme
at Murambindi Hospital,
which treats tuberculosis
patients. Improving the
nutritional status of TB
patients is the key to
helping patients to recover
quickly and encourages
them to continue treatment
and avoid drug resistant
disease which is a death
sentence for that patient
but also for everyone else
that they infect
Project Three: The Raphael–Ryder International Centre, India
Following an appeal from TB Alert, whose patron is Archbishop Desmond Tutu,
CHCT provided £2,500 for the hospital which is based in Buhera, the second
poorest district in Zimbabwe.
