WELCOME to the CHCT homepage

We are a small but highly focused medical charity providing grass-roots aid to stricken communities overlooked by the mainstream international organisations.

CHCT is special because it was founded by a husband-and-wife medical team with unique personal knowledge of the people and places where its help is needed. Our motto is “where disease and poverty meet.” Every penny we raise goes to useful projects because all our helpers are unpaid volunteers and we have no top-heavy administrative costs.

Our special concerns are:

TUBERCULOSIS: Once thought to be defeated, it is making a frightening comeback all over the world. CHCT’s detailed care packages include nutrition to ensure patients complete their treatment--if not, they go on to infect others with even more dangerous strains of the disease.

LEPROSY: Officially “eliminated” according to the World Health Organisation, there are still three million disabled victims worldwide and new cases are being discovered all the time. As governments switch their resources away, patients need charities like CHCT more than ever.

BURULI ULCER: A crippling disease that afflicts mainly African children, their lives can be transformed by simple surgery if detected and treated in time.
